Riverbend Co‑operative Holds Annual General Meeting
Riverbend Co‑operative welcomed members from across the trading area to its Annual General Meeting on May 13, marking the close of a year defined by growth, change, and continued community support.
A Year of Growth and Transformation
In his annual address, CEO Greg Sarvis reflected on what he described as a historic year for Riverbend Co‑op.
A major highlight was the successful amalgamation with Tullis Co‑op, following strong member support. This milestone expanded Riverbend’s reach, welcomed new members, and reinforced shared co‑operative values.
The organization also grew its agricultural footprint with the acquisition of two new locations in Lanigan and Nokomis, strengthening Riverbend’s ability to serve producers with expanded agronomic services and local expertise.
While 2025 brought growth, it also came with financial challenges. Strategic investments and acquisitions created short‑term pressures as integration and start‑up costs were absorbed. Despite this, Riverbend remained focused on disciplined financial management and delivering strong guest service across all locations.
New Directors Elected
Members elected two new representatives to Riverbend’s Board of Directors:
- Melanie Dyck, representing the Lucky Lake area
- Meagan Eliason, representing the Outlook area
Their election reflects the continued strength of local governance and member engagement within the co‑operative.
Appreciation for Outgoing Leadership
Riverbend extends sincere thanks to Susan Kasper (Vice President) and Ed Spigott (President) for their years of dedicated service and leadership.
Their contributions have helped guide the organization through an important period of transition and growth, and their commitment is greatly appreciated.
Board Reorganization
Following the AGM, the Board of Directors held its annual reorganization meeting. The Board leadership for the upcoming term is as follows:
- President: Jason Low
- Vice President: Keith LePoudre
- Secretary: Lana Palmer‑Low (re‑elected)
Looking Ahead
With a newly elected Board and an expanded and growing organization, Riverbend Co‑operative is well positioned for the future.
The co‑operative remains committed to serving its members, supporting local communities, and building on the strong foundation established over the past year.
Riverbend thanks all members who participated in this year’s Annual General Meeting and continues to value their engagement and support.
